Wesley Strader caught a 6-pounder and has a limit approaching 20 pounds. He’s the daily leader so far, but he’s got a ways to go to catch Kenney, who has a 4-pounder in his livewell.

Troy Morrow caught a 5-pounder.

Scott Canterbury has a 3- and 4-pounder.

Zack Birge has a 3.

Big-fish Ramie Colson Jr. has a 6 1/2-pounder – the day’s biggest thus far.

James Biggs has one that’ll crack the 5-pound mark, while Stetson Blaylock has one that’s just shy of it.

At least half of the top 20 pros are culling.

… And that all happened before 11 o’clock.

Day three’s takeoff was windy and chilly (we saw pros wearing beanies), but the sun is out now and pros are absolutely breaking jaws. The FLW On The Water feed has been updating non-stop.

It sounds like a variety of tactics are working this morning, including slow-fishing with soft plastics as many have done all week. But the most interesting change is that several pros have caught good fish on spinnerbaits, crankbaits and other moving baits. Maybe the fish are back to feeding after yesterday’s bite-busting cold front.

Right now, any pro other than maybe Stacey King would have to set some FLW catch records to catch Kenney today. But there’s still a final round on Sunday, so today is about gaining ground on the leader and making it through the top-10 cut.
