Anderson Wins His Fourth Super Tournament
Radake wins co-angler title on Kentucky Lake
GILBERTSVILLE, Ky. – Brent Anderson of Kingston Springs, Tenn., weighed a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 41 pounds, 1 ounce to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League LBL Division Super Tournament on Kentucky and Barkley lakes Sunday. For his victory, Anderson earned $5,869.
After winning the BFL Music City division Super Tournament on Kentucky Lake earlier this month, Anderson entered and won the LBL division’s Super Tournament as well, marking his fourth career Super Tournament win on Kentucky Lake.
“I was on was a topwater pattern,” said Anderson, who has earned more than $80,000 in FLW competition. “I had nothing else to go to. I basically threw a Strike King KVD Sexy Dawg for two days in the Paris, Tenn., area, around scattered grass on flats, from 3 to 6 feet deep.
“In practice I had found some solid fish on gravel bars, and the grass was going to be my backup pattern and a way to catch a limit,” Anderson added. “But, I never had a bite on my gravel areas, so I just stuck it out on the grass.
“On Sunday, it took me about 10 casts to hit the school,” said Anderson. “Once I hit them, I had about 30 explosions on the Sexy Dawg, but I only hooked two of them. I thought I had lost the tournament, but I didn’t know what to do except keep throwing. I ended up getting a limit by about 9:30 a.m., but it wasn’t during the initial flurry. It seemed like once the bite slowed down the fish started getting the bait better.
“It feels pretty awesome to get the win,” finished Anderson. “What’s cool is that I’ve won each of the last two Super Tournaments off of a different place or area. There’s something about September – I just feel like I know what the fish are trying to do.”

The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 9-11 Regional Championship on Lake Cherokee in Morristown, Tenn. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, with 120 tournaments throughout the season, five in each division. The top 40 boaters and co-anglers from each division qualify for a regional tournament and compete to finish in the top six, which then qualifies them for one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the Walmart BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the Rayovac FLW Series or even the Walmart FLW Tour.
