UPCOMING EVENT: Walmart FLW Tour - 2016 - Lake Okeechobee

Hite Signs Lance Camper

Evinrude pro Brett Hite bounced back from a tough day two and sacked up 22-11 to move up eight spots and back into the top 10.

Lancaster, Calif. – Lance Camper Manufacturing Company and Walmart FLW Tour veteran Brett Hite recently announced a new marketing partnership in which Hite will promote Lance campers on the FLW Tour and B.A.S.S. Elite Series tournament trails. Hite is among a contingent of pros who choose to camp at local parks and campgrounds while traveling the country. He hauls a Lance Truck Camper in the bed of his truck and credits the convenience and solitude of carrying his own accommodations with much of his success this season, which includes two major tournament victories.

“I couldn’t be happier to have Lance on board as a marketing partner,” says Hite. “As a professional who relies on my equipment to earn my living, I only partner with the top quality products and companies that build the best. Lance is a perfect example of that.”

“Brett was a Lance customer before we met and is a passionate truck camper enthusiast, spending 200-plus nights per year in his Lance Camper,” says Bob Rogers, marketing director for Lance. “He selected Lance based on quality and innovation and loves the competitive advantage his Lance provides him while on the professional bass tournament trail. Based on owner surveys, we know fishing continues to be a favorite activity of Lance customers, especially with our Truck Camper customers, many of whom pull boats behind their rigs. From weekend warriors to tournament pros, from inland lakes and rivers to saltwater, fishermen love the outdoors, and many of them enjoy RVing.”

Hite will be participating in the Forrest Wood Cup presented by Walmart and hosted by Capital City/Lake Murray Country in August. Lance will also be there, showing off its top-of-the-line campers to fans at the FLW Expo. The company will be hosting an autograph session and is giving away a high-end Igloo Yukon cooler.

Top 5 Patterns from Lake Okeechobee Day 2

Fueled by 25 mph north winds, the Lake Okeechobee washing machine cleansed some livewells today, keeping them free of the 20-pound limits that are so common here when the weather is sunny, 75 and calm. However, a few 20-plus-pound limits still snuck through the rinse cycle to grace the scales. The biggest limit once again belonged to Bradley Hallman of Norman, Okla. He added 25 pounds, 7 ounces to the 25 he caught on day one. READ MORE »

Top 5 Patterns from the Okeechobee Tour Day 1

The Walmart FLW Tour has been coming to Lake Okeechobee for the better part of 20 years. And for a vast majority of those years, the north end of the lake has been the business end – where the business of fish catching is done. Today, that tradition was derailed in the first round of the Walmart FLW Tour event on Lake Okeechobee presented by Ranger Boats and hosted by Hendry County Tourism Development Council. Though some boats did sample the Harney Pond area up north, many of the normal fish-producing haunts such as the Monkey Box, Dyess Ditch and Fisheating Bay were complete ghost towns. READ MORE »
