Silverado wins North American Truck of the Year award

The 2014 Chevy Silverado was named North American Truck of the Year at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Aside from a new look, the redesigned 2014 Chevy Silverado also features a new lineup of fuel-efficient engines including a very competitive V6.

“Chevrolet is in the midst of the most aggressive product transformation in the brand’s more than 100-year history,” said Alan Batey, General Motors senior vice president. “The Corvette and Silverado truly embody the passion, commitment and focus that is driving us to deliver the most expressive designs, innovative technologies and engaging performance in every vehicle that wears the bowtie.”

In addition to its spacious four-door crew cab, the Silverado offers a two-door standard cab and an extended cab with a smaller rear seat and doors. Beyond those choices, Chevrolet also is testing the luxury pickup waters with the Silverado High Country, which offers even more features and upscale materials.

The seven bass pros representing Chevy on the 2014 Walmart FLW Tour will be Larry Nixon, Jay Yelas, Dion Hibdon, Anthony Gagliardi, Luke Clausen, Bryan Thrift and Jimmy Houston.
