FLW Tour pro James Watson will be the keynote speaker at the 5th annual Fishing For Freedom banquet at the Warsaw Community Center in Warsaw, Mo. The Fishing For Freedom tournament will be held on Sunday, October 13 on Truman Lake.

Fishing For Freedom is one of the largest events in the country celebrating America¹s freedom with the people who provided that freedom.It brings together warriors with volunteer boaters for a day of tournament bass fishing in a relaxed fun-filled celebration in the great outdoors.

Hosted by the Leavenworth Bass Club, based in Leavenworth, Kansas, and made possible by volunteers, local and corporate sponsors, and with private donations. All warrior participants will receive a pack of tackle provided by sponsors. Top finishers will receive trophies for their accomplishments. All participants will receive dinner on Saturday night, breakfast on Sunday morning, and a BBQ lunch after the weigh-in Sunday. Lodging for warriors on both Saturday and Sunday night is provided.

Watson is a nine-year veteran with the United States Army. He spent two years as a drill sergeant at Fort Leonard Wood. He was a SAPPER leader and a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.

“I feel honored and appreciate them having me as the keynote speaker for this event,” he said. “The sacrifices made by these men and women to ensure the freedom of American civilians are astounding. The Fishing for Freedom event is a great event put together and made possible by a lot of people to give a little back to these soldiers. It is a huge honor, and a privilege to be chosen as the keynote speaker.”
