For the third year in a row Kellogg’s Pop-Tarts pro Greg Bohannan will be hosting a charity tournament on Beaver Lake. Over the past two years, Bohannan along with marquee sponsor Everett Chevrolet, have raised over $22,000 to benefit the Fellowship of Christian Athletes with an average of 300 entries each year. This year, however, Bohannan thought it would be nice to share the wealth and all the funds will be donated to the EOA Children’s House of Northwest Arkansas.

“The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a great organization, but we thought it would be nice to help out an important cause on a local level,” said Bohannan, who lives in Rogers, Ark. “The Children’s House of Northwest Arkansas is a place that helps abused and neglected children. I have done some work with them in the past and I thought this tournament would be a great way to help them out. The best part is all the money we raise stays right here in Northwest Arkansas with them.”

Everett Chevrolet Big Bass tournament. The event will be held out of Prairie Creek on Sept. 21 and is only $50 to enter per person. It is a big bass tournament where prizes are awarded hourly for the first, second and third largest bass weighed with payments of $300, $200 and $100, respectively. There is even a $5,000 payout for the overall biggest bass. The tournament also features a youth division that is free to all kids 14 years and younger. The top 10 places in that division will receive prizes from Hook line & Sinker.

Along with great prizes, participants will also be treated to a free meal provided by Tyson after the tournament is over. During that time a live auction will feature the opportunity to go fishing with Rayovac pro Jason Christie or Walmart pro Mark Rose with all proceeds going to the EOA Children’s House.

“This year should be great and we expect a higher turnout,” said the Pop-Tart pro. “We really wanted to maximize our fundraising while still giving the angler a shot at winning some good money.”
