MINNEAPOLIS – FLW, the world’s largest tournament-fishing organization and no-contract cell phone leader Straight Talk Wireless, announced today that Straight Talk Wireless will return as a sponsor for the 2013 season.

The Straight Talk Wireless brand will receive exposure across all of FLW’s platforms, including its tournaments and Expos, multiple websites, FLW Bass Fishing magazine and the “FLW” television show on NBC Sports Network. “FLW” is broadcast Sundays in high-definition (HD) to more than 559 million households worldwide, making it the most widely distributed weekly outdoors-sports television show in the world. The sponsorship will give Straight Talk Wireless the chance to speak to fans on a grassroots level.

A Straight Talk Wireless spokesperson said: “We understand the power of FLW and know that our no-contract $45 a month unlimited everything service on the nation’s four leading wireless networks resonates with its huge fan base. We look forward to another exciting season.”

Straight Talk Wireless will again be represented on the Walmart FLW Tour by two of the most consistent anglers in the sport of professional bass fishing – Scott Canterbury of Springville, Ala., and J.T. Kenney of Palm Bay, Fla.

Canterbury, entering his sixth year as a pro, has already accumulated more than $660,000 in career winnings and has 28 career top-10 finishes, including a second-place finish at the 2012 Forrest Wood Cup. He’ll be looking to build upon his fantastic 2012 campaign, and with three of the six FLW Tour events of 2013 within 200 miles of his home, pundits are looking for big things from him in 2013.

Kenney enjoyed a banner year in 2012, finishing the year ranked eighth in the Angler of the Year race and becoming only the 24th angler in FLW history to surpass $1 million in career winnings. He is entering his 12th year fishing as a professional on the FLW Tour, with 35 top-10 finishes and three tournament wins, and the former MotoCross racer will be looking to add to his impressive resume and qualify for his seventh-straight Forrest Wood Cup.
