INDIANAPOLIS – Fatheadz Eyewear, one of the leading eyewear makers catering to men and women with heads of all sizes, recently announced its sponsorship of Indianapolis angler Jacob Wheeler for the 2012 tournament-fishing season.

Wheeler, 21, entered the pro fishing arena in 2008 with a first-place finish in the Junior Northern Divisional and made history as the youngest angler to not only compete in, but win the 2011 Forrest L. Wood (FLW) Outdoors Bass Fishing League (BFL) All-American National Championship. Wheeler, who competes on the Walmart FLW Tour, among other local and national tournaments, will be sporting Fatheadz sunglasses and clothing, as well as have his boat and truck adorned by the well-known eyewear brand.

“It’s tough to spend a day on the water without a good pair of sunglasses and it’s almost foolish if you are a competing angler,” said Wheeler. “In this sport, you’re constantly exposed to the sun and sunglasses are essential for two reasons – 100 percent UV protection and polarization, which improves visibility by reducing the sun’s glare on the water. Fatheadz provides a great selection of products that meet these needs while combining style, comfort and affordability. It’s an easy decision to represent their products, and it’s a bonus to represent a nationally recognized and respected business from my hometown.”

“Fatheadz is privileged to team up with such a bright, young guy who is taking the fishing world by storm,” said Rico Elmore, CEO of Fatheadz. “We’re looking forward to providing Wheeler with a bunch of gear to protect him while competing. We are thrilled to be a part of his 2012 sponsorship team, and hope to continue supporting him for coming seasons.”

In addition to supporting Wheeler, Fatheadz announced a sponsorship agreement with FLW in late February.
