BAINBRIDGE, Ga. – The EverStart Series is headed to Lake Seminole March 22-24 when as many as 300 pros and co-anglers take to the water for the second of four stops in the Southeast Division.

“Lake Seminole is a really fun fishery,” said FLW Tour pro Micah Frazier of Newnan, Ga. “The bass should be post-spawn, but there may be a few stragglers left on the beds. There’s always a few bass that get on the deeper, outside grass lines as well, so there’s really a lot of stuff a guy can try on this lake.”

Frazier is fresh off cashing a $35,000 check for a second-place finish at the first Walmart FLW Tour Major of the year at Lake Hartwell.

“I would target the areas adjacent to the spawning beds that have good vegetation and good bait present. I’d really be trying to find some shad spawn areas,” Frazier continued. “Crankbaits and spinnerbaits would be a good choice here, but you can always slow down with a big worm or a jig and catch some, too.

Frazier predicts it will take 60 to 70 pounds to win this event.

“Seminole has some real big fish in it,” Frazier said. “I would think 20 pounds a day will be leading this tourney, but I would not be shocked at all to see some 25-pound bags.”

Anglers will take off from the Bainbridge Earle May Boat Basin located at 100 Boat Basin Circle in Bainbridge, Ga., at 7:30 a.m. each day. Weigh-in will be held at the takeoff location on Thursday and Friday beginning at 3:00 p.m. Saturday’s final weigh-in will be held at Walmart located at 500 E. Alice St. in Bainbridge beginning at 4:00 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

Pros will fish for a top award of $35,000 plus a Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard if Ranger Cup guidelines are met. Co-anglers will cast for a top award consisting of a Ranger 177TR with a 90-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and $5,000 if Ranger Cup guidelines are met.

The EverStart Series consists of five divisions – Central, Northern, Southeast, Texas and Western. Each division consists of four tournaments and competitors will be vying for valuable points in each division that could earn them the Strike King Angler of the Year title along with $5,000 for the pro and $2,000 for the co-angler. The top 40 pros and co-anglers from each respective division will qualify for the EverStart Series Championship that will be held on the Ouachita River in Monroe, La., Nov. 1-4.

The EverStart Series tournament on Lake Seminole is being hosted by the Bainbridge Convention & Visitors Bureau.
