Boater Kevin Spears of New Boston, Ohio, caught four bass weighing 5 pounds, 12 ounces Aug. 20 to win $2,934 in the Walmart BFL Buckeye Division tournament on the Ohio River in Maysville, Ky. Spears was using the Zara Spook Bone on the main river.

Coming up
The next BFL Buckeye Division tournament is scheduled for Sept. 17-18 and will return to the Ohio River in Maysville, Ky. After the fifth Buckeye Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 13-15 Regional Championship on Smith Mountain Lake in Huddleston, Va. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
