Boater Randy Ramsey of Battle Creek, Mich., caught a five-bass limit weighing 14 pounds, 14 ounces July 30 to win $3,028 plus a $2,000 Ranger Cup bonus and a $1,000 Mercury bonus in the Walmart BFL Michigan Division tournament on the Grand River. Ramsey was jig fishing and drop-shotting an Erie Darter to catch his limit.

5th: Mark Flick, Plainwell, Mich., five bass, 12-8, $606

6th: Marc Snyder, Saint Johns, Mich., five bass, 12-7, $555

7th: Matt Vermilyea, Perrysburg, Ohio, five bass, 12-4, $505

8th: Matthew Malmquist, White Lake, Mich., five bass, 12-2, $454

Cody Kelley of Schoolcraft, Mich., earned $1,514 as the co-angler winner of the July 30 BFL Michigan event.

Cody Kelley of Schoolcraft, Mich., caught a five-bass limit weighing 11 pounds, 5 ounces to win $1,514 in the Co-angler Division. Kelley fished the weeds on White Lake, using Pop-Rs and Sweet Beavers.

Coming up

The next BFL Michigan Division tournament is scheduled for Aug. 27 on the Detroit River in Trenton, Mich. After the fifth Michigan Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 20-22 Regional Championship on the Barren River in Scottsville, Ky. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
