Boater Jeff Johnston of Marion, Ark., caught a five-bass limit weighing 15 pounds, 5 ounces June 25 to win $3,842 in the Walmart BFL Mississippi Division tournament on Grenada Lake. Johnston was fishing shallow in Turkey Creek with Havoc plastics on a black-and-blue jig.

Tim Davis of Laurel, Miss., caught a five-bass limit weighing 9 pounds, 8 ounces to win $1,921 in the Co-angler Division. Davis was fishing shallow grass with a swim jig to catch his limit.

Coming up
The next and final BFL Mississippi Division tournament is scheduled for Sept. 24-25 on Pickwick Lake in Iuka, Miss. After the fifth Mississippi Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 13-15 Regional Championship on Wheeler Lake in Decatur, Ala. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
