OSAGE BEACH, Mo. – The Walmart Bass Fishing League is headed to Lake of the Ozarks March 19 for the second of five stops in the Ozark Division. As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will compete for top awards of up to $8,000 and $3,000, respectively.

“Guys will probably want to throw a jig around wood and big rocks, and the same thing with a (Storm) Wiggle Wart,” said Chevy pro Dion Hibdon of Stover, Mo. “There may be a pretty good jerkbait bite still.

“It will take at least 20 pounds to win this event,” Hibdon added. “There’s never a day on Lake of the Ozarks that it doesn’t take 20 pounds any more. It’s just that good now.”

Takeoff and weigh-in will be at Lake of the Ozarks Public Beach No. 2 located at 711 Public Beach Road in Osage Beach, Mo. Takeoff is scheduled for 7 a.m. while weigh-in will begin at 3 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

Bass Fishing League competition is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers offering bigger prizes to those who qualify for the regional championships and those who make it to one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the EverStart Series or even the Walmart FLW Tour.
