KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Walmart Bass Fishing League is headed to Lake Toho March 5 for the second of five stops in the Gator Division. As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will compete for top awards of up to $9,500 and $3,000, respectively.

“Fishing should be really good right now because the fish are starting to spawn,” said Band-Aid/Neosporin pro Glenn Browne of Ocala, Fla. “Anglers will be flipping pads and reeds with creature baits; I would use the Gambler Ugly Otter. You’ll also see some sight-fishing going on. The great thing about Toho is that it offers a lot of different ways to fish.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if someone crossed the stage with a 10-pound hog. It’s probably going to take more than 20 pounds to win.”

Takeoffs and weigh-ins will be at Big Toho Marina located at 101 Lakeshore Boulevard in Kissimmee, Fla. Takeoff is scheduled for 7 a.m. while weigh-in will begin at 3 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

The Lake Toho BFL tournament is being hosted by the Kissimmee Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, offering bigger prizes to those who qualify for regional championships and those who make it to one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the Walmart BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the EverStart Series or even the Walmart FLW Tour.
