GALLATIN, Tenn. – The Bass Fishing League is headed to Old Hickory Lake Oct. 2-3 for the Music City Division’s two-day Super Tournament. As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will compete for top awards of up to $11,000 and $4,500, respectively.

“There’s really two patterns that prevail this time of year,” said FLW Tour pro Brandon Coulter of Knoxville, Tenn. “I’m not sure how much ledge-fishing will play in that tournament. I think shallow fishing will play the biggest role in the tournament. Shaky-head rigs and crankbaits on isolated wood on flats or in the back of creeks should work well.”

Takeoffs will be at Bulls Creek Access located at 200 Odoms Bend Road in Gallatin, Tenn. Takeoff is scheduled for 7 a.m. each day while weigh-in will begin at 3 p.m. at Bulls Creek Access. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

The Old Hickory Lake BFL tournament is being hosted by the Sumner County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings following the tournament will qualify for a regional championship where boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.

The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, offering bigger prizes to those who qualify for regional championships and those who make it to one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the FLW American Fishing Series or even the FLW Tour.
