LENOIR CITY, Tenn. – The Bass Fishing League is headed to Fort Loudoun-Tellico lakes Oct. 2-3 for the Volunteer Division’s two-day Super Tournament. As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will compete for top awards of up to $11,000 and $4,500, respectively.

“Loudoun in October is going to be tough,” said FLW Tour pro Brandon Coulter of Knoxville, Tenn. “There won’t be a tremendous amount of limits caught.

“If I was fishing the tournament, I wouldn’t even start on a ledge,” Coulter added. “I think it will be won shallow in the backs of pockets. I’d throw a Rat-L-Trap in those pockets. And one bait guys tend to overlook is the buzzbait.”

Takeoffs will be at the Tellico Recreation Area Ramp located at the junction of Highway 321 N. and 444 Tellico Pkwy. in Lenoir City, Tenn. Takeoff is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. each day while weigh-in will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Tellico Recreation Area Ramp. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings following the tournament will qualify for a regional championship where boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.

The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, offering bigger prizes to those who qualify for regional championships and those who make it to one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the FLW American Fishing Series or even the FLW Tour.
