BRANDON, Miss. – The FLW Bass Fishing League is headed to Ross Barnett Reservoir Sept. 18-19 for the final stop in the Mississippi Division for a two day Super Tournament. As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will be competing for top awards of up to $11,000 and $4,500, respectively.

“The cool nights we have been experiencing have sent the fish off the main river and lake,” said FLW Tour pro Mark Rose of Marion, Ark., who has won over $1 million in FLW Tournament fishing. “Anglers should concentrate off the main channels and on the stumpy flats; there is a stump or two on Ross Barnett!

“The shad are starting to move to the flats which makes Sept. just a great month to catch the bass using a frog. Other baits to use would be Lucky Strike spinnerbaits.”

Takeoff and weigh-in will be at Tommy’s Trading Post of Mississippi located at 4238 Highway 43 North in Brandon, Miss. Takeoff is scheduled for 6 a.m. while weigh-in will begin at 2 p.m. on Sat. and 3 p.m. on Sun. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, offering bigger prizes to those who qualify for regional championships and those who make it to one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the American Fishing Series or even the FLW Tour.
