Boater Randy Ramsey of Battle Creek, Mich., caught a five-bass limit weighing 21 pounds, 14 ounces Aug. 28 to win $5,296 in the BFL Michigan Division tournament on the Detroit River. Under sunny skies with a light wind Ramsey was power fishing around rocks with crankbaits to sack his limit.

3rd: Ryan Said, Wixon, Mich., five bass, 20-6, $1,099

4th: Bill Vavrina, Brownstown, Mich., five bass, 20-4, $769

5th: Scott Dobson, Clarkston, Mich., five bass, 19-5, $1,659*

6th: Patrick Stines, Granger, Ind., five bass, 18-15, $604

7th: Mark Modrak, China Township, Mich., five bass, 18-7, $521

7th: Matt Vermilyea, Perrysburg, Ohio, five bass, 18-7, $521

9th: Mark Goetsch, Gibraltar, Mich., five bass, 18-2, $439

10th: Mark Flick, Plainwell, Mich., five bass, 17-7, $385

Eastman nets non-boater title

Bob Eastman of Harland, Mich., won the non-boater title at the BFL Michigan Division event on the Detroit River. For his efforts, Eastman took home over $1,600.Bob Eastman of Hartland, Mich., caught a five-bass limit weighing 19 pounds, Aug. 28, 2010 to win $1,648 in the Co-angler Division. He was using a drop-shot with crankbaits in rocky areas to catch his limit.

3rd: Chad Lee, Jackson, Tenn., five bass, 18-8, $549

4th: Bill Dodge, Laingsburg, Mich., five bass, 17-12, $385

5th: Paul Gonzales, Battle Creek, Mich., five bass, 16-7, $330

6th: David Borsa, Dearborn Heights, Mich., five bass, 15-15, $302

7th: Dennis Mitchell, Malvern, Ark., five bass, 15-6, $275

8th: David Michaelis, Commerce, Mich., five bass, 15-3, $247

9th: Mike Bender, Batavia, Ohio, four bass, 14-11, $220

10th: Seth Borton, Adrian, Mich., five bass, 14-9, $192

The next and last BFL Michigan Division tournament is scheduled for Sept. 18-19 on the Detroit River in Trenton, Mich. After the fifth Michigan Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 21-23 Regional Championship on Kentucky Lake in Gilbertsville, Ky. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
