Bryan Beard of Steele, Ala. caught a 5-bass limit weighing 20 pounds, 6 ounces Saturday to win $3,963 in the FLW BFL Bama Division tournament on Lake Neely Henry. With a backdrop of extremely high temperatures and humid conditions, Beard found success flipping a jig in about 1-3 feet of water.

Rounding out the top-10 boaters were:

2nd: Blake Parker, Haprersville, Ala., five bass, 15-10, $1,981

3rd: Dennis Barnes, Boaz, Ala., five bass, 15-4, $1,322

4th: Ricky Dale Smith, Ohatchee, Ala., five bass, 14-6, $925

5th: George Crain, Cropwell, Ala., five bass, 14-3, $793

6th: Jeff Cannon, Douglasville, Ga., five bass, 14, $693

6th: Eddie Jackson, Trussville, Ala., five bass, 14, $693

8th: Tim Hurst, Oxford, Ala., five bass, 13-13, $594

9th: Shannon Vinson, Jacksonville, Ala., five bass, 13-11, $528

10th: William Bearden, Ashville, Ala., five bass, 13-6, $462

Marquis nets co-angler title

Co-angler Shawn Marquis of Columbus, Ga., recorded a 13-pound, 10-ounce catch to win the BFL Bama Division event on Lake Neely Henry. For his efforts, Marquis took home nearly $2,000 in winnings.Shawn Marquis of Columbus, Ga., caught a 5-bass limit weighing 13 pounds, 10 ounces Saturday, July 19, 2010 to win $1,981 in the FLW BFL Bama Co-angler Division on Lake Neely Henry. Marquis was using crankbaits in 12 feet of water mid lake to sack his limit.

7th: Philip Perkins, Attalla, Ala., five bass, 9-5, $330

9th: J. Larry Nunnally, Gadsden, Ala., five bass, 8-11, $264

10th: David Reid, Roswell, Ga., five bass, 8-10, $231

The next and last BFL Bama Division tournament in 2010 is scheduled for Oct. 2-3, at Lake Guntersville in Guntersville, Ala. After the fifth Bama Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and co-anglers based on the 2010 point standings will qualify for the Regional Championship at Lake Seminole in Bainbridge, Ga., on Oct. 21-23, for a chance to win a 198VX Ranger boat with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
