WATERLOO, N.Y. – The FLW Bass Fishing League is headed to Lake Cayuga, July 24, for the third of five stops in the Northeast Division series. As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will compete for top awards of up to $8,000 and $3,000, respectively.

“There are massive amounts of grass and grass flats on the lake,” said Chevy pro Dave Lefebre of Union City, Pa., who won a tournament on Lake Cayuga. “The grass patterns are going to be key in winning this event. Flipping heavy jigs in thick milfoil is how I won the tournament on the lake.

“Anglers will see a mix of both large and smallmouth bass; the north end of the lake has the largemouth bite and I think that is where the tournament is going to be won.”

Takeoff and weigh-in will be at Cayuga Lake State Park located at 2678 Lower Lake Road in Seneca Falls, N.Y. Takeoff is scheduled for 6 a.m. while weigh-in will begin at 2 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

Bass Fishing League competition is a 24-division league circuit devoted to weekend anglers, offering bigger prizes to those who qualify for regional championships and those who make it to one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the American Fishing Series or even the FLW Tour.
