Boater Wayne Diffee of Oakhurst, Okla., caught a five-bass limit weighing 19 pounds, 9 ounces Saturday to win $4,199 in the BFL Okie Division tournament on Grand Lake. On a hot and sunny day, Diffee used crankbaits in shallow water near Duck Creek to bag his limit.

3rd: Derek Fulps, Broken Arrow, Okla., five bass, 18-10, $1,398

4th: Bo Byers, Bixby, Okla., five bass, 17-12, $980

6th: Ron Shaw, Moore, Okla., five bass, 17-3, $770

7th: Raymond Renfroe, Bartlesville, Okla., five bass, 17-0, $1,700*

Damon Duncan of Kansas, Okla., caught a five-bass limit weighing 17 pounds, 13 ounces to win $2,100 in the Co-angler Division on Grand Lake. Duncan was fishing midlake in 5- to 12-foot depths with Mad Cow and Elk River jigs to sack his limit.

Coming up

The next BFL Okie Division tournament is scheduled for June 26 at the Arkansas River in Muskogee, Okla. After the fifth Okie Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 14-16 Regional Championship at Lake Texoma in Denison, Texas., where boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
