GILBERTSVILLE, Ky. – The FLW Bass Fishing League is headed to Kentucky-Barkley lakes May 8 for the third of five stops in the LBL Division. As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will compete for top awards of up to $8,000 and $3,000, respectively.

“The water’s up now about a foot over summer pool, and with the full moon coming up, the majority of fish should be spawning,” said FLW Tour pro Terry Bolton of Jonesboro, Ark., who formerly lived in western Kentucky. “It will be a shallow-water tournament with some topwater action, but the best action will be flipping willow trees.”

Takeoff and weigh-in will be at Moors Resort and Marina located at 570 Moors Road in Gilbertsville, Ky. Takeoff is scheduled for 6 a.m., while weigh-in will begin at 2:30 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

The Kentucky-Barkley lakes BFL tournament is being hosted by the Marshall County Tourist Commission.

The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, offering even bigger prizes to those who qualify for regional championships and those who make it to one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the American Fishing Series or even the FLW Tour.
