BUCHANAN Tenn. – The Bass Fishing League is headed to Kentucky-Barkley lakes April 24 for the third of five stops in the Music City Division. As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will be competing for top awards of up to $8,000 and $3,000, respectively.

“Fishing should be good,” said FLW Tour pro Dan Morehead of Paducah, Ky., who has five wins and three top-10 finishes on Kentucky-Barkley. “The lake has stabilized, and the fish are moving into shallow water. Guys should stay in 2 feet or less of water; that’s where they’ll find the 4- to 6-pound lunkers.

“Kentucky Lake always promises a big bite. I expect it will take about 24 pounds to win this tournament. The bite is going to be aggressive; anglers should catch a ton of smallies. I would use Senkos with a trick worm or wacky style.”

Takeoff and weigh-in will be at Paris Landing State Park located at 16055 Highway 79 North in Buchanan, Tenn. Takeoff is scheduled for 6 a.m., while weigh-in will begin at 2 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, offering even bigger prizes to those who qualify for regional championships and those who make it to one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the American Fishing Series or even the FLW Tour.
