Boaters Bowman Gray of Winterville, N.C., and Keith Hutto of Evans, Ga., each caught a five-bass limit weighing 14 pounds, 1 ounce Saturday to tie for the win and earn $2,563 apiece for their efforts in the BFL North Carolina Division tournament on Kerr Lake. Hutto won an additional $2,000 for meeting the Ranger Cup qualifications. He was using spinnerbaits around trees, while Gray stuck with a ChatterBait to catch his limit.

4th: David Williams, Maiden, N.C., five bass, 12-13, $798

5th: Nathan Webber, Kernersville, N.C., five bass, 12-12, $684

6th: Brian Stacy, Pulaski, Va., five bass, 12-11, $627

7th: Jeff Coble, Manson, N.C., five bass, 12-7, $570

8th: Gerry Burchfield, Thomasville, N.C., four bass, 12-6, $456

8th: Flash Butts, Roanoke Rapids, N.C., four bass, 12-6, $456

8th: Jeffrey Queen, Catawba, N.C., five bass, 12-6, $456

Meadows winning co-angler

BFL boater Keith Hutto of Evans, Ga., picked up a win on Kerr Lake along with a Ranger Cup bonus payment.Bill Meadows of Hinton, W.Va., caught four bass weighing 9 pounds, 8 ounces to earn $1,709 as winner in the Co-angler Division on Kerr Lake. Meadows used a ChatterBait around trees to earn his victory.

Coming up

The next BFL North Carolina Division tournament is scheduled for May 15 at High Rock Lake in Salisbury, N.C. After the fifth North Carolina Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 7-9 Regional Championship at the Potomac River in Woodbridge, Va., where boaters will compete for a chance to win a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
