BYRDSTOWN, Tenn. – The Bass Fishing League is headed to Dale Hollow Lake March 20 for the first of five stops in the Mountain Division. As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will be competing for top awards of up to $8,000 and $3,000, respectively.

“Dale Hollow is a fishery that is better cold than it is warm, so anglers should do quite well,” said Goodwill pro Wesley Strader of Spring City, Tenn. “It’s a deep, clear mountain lake, so the cold winter that we have had should play right in to this tournament.”

Adding to the challenge anglers will face at Dale Hollow will be the fact that they will have to catch a mixed bag of smallmouth, largemouth or spotted bass. Due to lake regulations, anglers will be restricted to two smallmouths in a bag limit, one fish more than 21 inches and one fish less than 16 inches.

Takeoff and weigh-in will be at Star Point Resort located at 4490 Star Point Road in Byrdstown, Tenn. Takeoff will be at 7 a.m. while weigh-in is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

The Dale Hollow Lake BFL tournament is being hosted by the Star Point Resort.

The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, offering even bigger prizes to those who qualify for regional championships and those who make it to one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the American Fishing Series or even the FLW Tour.
