Ever wanted to test drive a new Ranger boat or check out the revolutionary new line of E-TEC engines from Evinrude Motors? Well, here’s your chance. Ranger Boats powered by Evinrude E-TEC Outboards will be presenting “Greater than Test Drive” demonstrations as well as a free children’s fishing clinic throughout the final two days of the 2005 FLW Championship.

From 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 15 and again from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, participants will have an opportunity to water test Ranger boats powered by Evinrude E-TEC Outboards. Representatives from Ranger and Evinrude will be available to answer questions participants may have in regards to Evinrude and Ranger products. Each of the two “Greater than Test Drive” demonstrations will take place at the Fish Hatchery Ramp, located at 350 Fish Hatchery Road in Hot Springs, Ark.

On Saturday, July 16 at 10 a.m., the Fish Hatchery Ramp will also be the site of the children’s fishing clinic. The clinic will give children the opportunity to visit first hand with several Evinrude and Ranger professional anglers. Anglers will teach children different fishing techniques, sign autographs and discuss which type of lures and bait they used to fish the Hot Springs area. Parents are encouraged to bring along a camera to take photos of their children with the professional anglers and their colorful boat and motor packages.

Participants may also register for door prizes that will be drawn and awarded throughout the event.

Customers who participate in the test drive will receive a free Ranger/Evinrude Test Pilot t-shirt and hat. In addition, participants who ultimately purchase a Ranger/Evinrude demo will receive a seven-year protection program from Evinrude as well as a free boat cover from Ranger. Children under the age of 16 are required to have a parent with them when test driving a boat.

The community is also encouraged to attend all the free activities associated with the $1.5 million 2005 FLW Championship. Tournament anglers will depart each morning (July 13-16) at 7 a.m. from the Fish Hatchery Ramp. Each day’s championship weigh-in will take place at 5 p.m. at the Hot Springs Convention Center, located at 134 Convention Boulevard in Hot Springs, Ark. The community is invited to attend all daily takeoffs and weigh-ins, which are free and open to the public.

One lucky spectator attending the final FLW Championship weigh-in on July 16 will also win a new Ranger Z20 Comanche bass boat powered by Yamaha Motors. Official entry forms for the Ranger Boat drawing will be made available during each day’s weigh-in festivities at the Hot Springs Convention Center.

The championship’s boat and outdoor show featuring more than 140 exhibits; fishing seminars by Hank Parker, Jimmy Houston, Guido Hibdon, Forrest L. Wood and other bass-fishing legends; and free daily giveaways runs from 2 to 8 p.m. July 13 and 14, noon to 9 p.m. on July 15, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on July 16. The boat and outdoor show, which is also free and open to the public, takes place in conjunction with the championship at the Hot Springs Convention Center.
