Bass pro J.T. Kenney of Frostburg, Md., said anglers can expect to find the bass in an aggressive frame of mind when the FLW Tour lands on the Potomac River for the Wal-Mart FLW Tour Chevy Open June 22-25.
“The fish are going to be well into the postspawn, and they should be feeding pretty good,” Kenney said. “I’m expecting to see a lot of limits caught, possibly the entire field. This river is full of 2- to 4-pound fish.”
Kenney thinks the tournament will be won by the flipper who discovers concentrations of plump largemouths hiding in scattered patches of milfoil and hydrilla. He said buzzbaits and spinnerbaits also could factor into the winning equation.
Kenney’s call: 32 pounds to make the cut; 30 to 32 pounds to win.
