Pro Steve Kennedy of Auburn, Ala., was the overwhelming winner of the first Hook Set Award contest of the 2005 FLW Tour season.

FLWOutdoors.com’s voting visitors were able to choose from video footage of three pro anglers’ hook sets as captured by FSN’s camera crews during the Jan. 19-22 tournament at Lake Okeechobee. Though Kennedy placed second at the Big O, online fishing fans declared him the winner of the Hook Set Award and a $1,000 Wal-Mart shopping card. The award and the prize are presented by Eagle Claw.

Kennedy’s hook-set footage, which was seen on the “FLW Outdoors” TV program and FLWOutdoors.com, garnered nearly five times more votes than the next-best hook set, provided by actual Okeechobee tournament winner Kelly Jordon. Bobby Lane, who placed seventh at the Big O, pulled up the rear.

FSN provides FLWOutdoors.com with video footage of three of the best hook sets from each FLW Tour event throughout the season. The hook sets are seen on FSN’s “FLW Outdoors” program, which airs Sundays at 11 a.m. Eastern, and are then viewable at FLWOutdoors.com. After voting has closed for a given contest, the winner will be announced on television and through the website.

The Hook Set Award contest is free and open to anyone 21 years of age or older who wants to go online to vote for their favorite footage. Use this article to link to the contest or access it through FLWOutdoors.com’s home page.
