FLW Radio

DALLAS – On “FLW Radio” this week, veteran bass-fishing pros Mike Surman and Glenn Browne join host Keith Lebowitz to discuss the first two events of the 2005 Wal-Mart FLW Tour: Florida’s Lake Okeechobee and Lake Toho. Frequent visitor David Vance also co-hosts an emotional portion of the show as the winners of the all-expense-paid trip to Lake Fork are revealed.

Surman, a Team Castrol angler, has fished in 81 FLW Outdoors events since 1995. In 1996, the Boca Raton, Fla., native took first place in the FLW Tour event held on Lake Okeechobee. In his illustrious angling career, Surman has 13 top-10 finishes, with seven of them coming out of Lake Okeechobee. Listen as Surman gives insight on what it takes to be successful on the second-largest freshwater lake within the United States.

Browne, coming off a 10th-place finish at the 2004 FLW Tour Championship, is no stranger to success on Florida lakes. The Ocala, Fla., native has twice placed in the top 10 on both Lake Okeechobee and Lake Toho. In March 2000, Browne took first place in a BFL event held on Lake Toho. He has fished in 48 FLW Outdoors events since 1998, with his biggest sack – 26 pounds, 3 ounces – registered at an EverStart Series event on Lake Okeechobee. Browne joins Lebowitz to share the secrets behind his success on Florida’s two premier bass fisheries.

A regular guest on “FLW Radio,” Vance offers his angling expertise as a Lake Fork guide. This week Vance and Lebowitz speak with the contest winners about why they deserved a trip to Lake Fork. Vance is generally regarded as one of the top bass-fishing guides in the state of Texas. He specializes in the technical aspects of angling such as depth and presentation. As a Ranger boat driver, Vance also passes along some boating tips.

“FLW Radio” is presented by Wal-Mart and broadcast throughout Texas and parts of Oklahoma every Sunday from 10-11 a.m. Central time.
