NATCHITOCHES, La. – The top 20 pros and 20 co-anglers in the EverStart Series Central Division event on the Red River all started with a clean slate this morning.

Those that barely squeaked into the cut are now even with those that held the lead.

But the Red River is unforgiving.

Day-two leaders, pro Trey Morgan of Goldonna, La., and co-angler Emmet Barnett of Waldron, Ark., check out for day-three action.“The most important thing on this river is to catch a limit every day,” commented day-two leader Trey Morgan. “Once you get behind here, it’s hard to make up ground.”

Today the Red River will be doubly unforgiving because those anglers not catching enough weight to make the top-10 cut will go home.

“I think it’s going to take about 9 pounds to fish tomorrow,” said Dan Morehead of Paducah, Ky. “There will be no second chances if you don’t have close to that today.”

Some anglers are a little concerned about the rising water on the river. The rain that flooded Arkansas last week is now influencing the Red River.

Many anglers claim it came up at least a foot yesterday and it has come up even more overnight.

The rising water will likely cause some patterns to disintegrate and others to emerge. Those who can adapt will survive to fish another day.

The top-20 weigh-in will be held at the Natchitoches Wal-Mart Supercenter at 4 p.m. Central time.
