ROGERS, Ark. – Some of FLW Outdoors’ most successful professional anglers will offer tournament-winning tips and techniques Saturday, March 27, and Sunday, March 28, when they host the Wal-Mart FLW Outdoors Fishing and Automotive Clinic prior to the Wal-Mart FLW Tour’s $1.25 million Wal-Mart Open event in Rogers. The clinics are presented by BFGoodrich Tires, Castrol and 7UP.

Saturday’s clinic will be held from 4-6 p.m. at the Wal-Mart Supercenter located at 2875 W. Sixth Street in Fayetteville, and Sunday’s clinic will be held from 4-6 p.m. at the Wal-Mart Supercenter located at 2004 S. Pleasant in Springdale. The free clinic is designed for people of all ages and skill levels, and participants are invited to ask the pros questions about fishing and automotive topics. The clinics precede the FLW Tour event that is scheduled to take place March 31-April 3 on Beaver Lake. The tournament is presented by Tyson.

The clinic is in the Tire and Lube Express department at Wal-Mart. The first hour focuses on specific techniques the anglers use, including tips on tying knots, casting and selecting tackle. During the second hour, anglers answer questions, pose for photos and sign autographs. Participants may also enter a drawing for goodie bags filled with sponsor products, shirts and hats. The drawing takes place before the tournament weigh-in April 3 at Wal-Mart.

Presenting anglers include Team BFGoodrich Tires members Scott Martin of Clewiston, Fla., and Chad Grigsby of Colon, Mich.; Team Castrol members Bobby Curtis of Siloam Springs, Ark., and David Dudley of Manteo, N.C.; and Team 7UP members Robert Pearson of Oak Hill, Va., Mark Goines of Shady Point, Okla., and Shad Schenck of Waynetown, Ind. Dudley’s past wins include the lucrative Ranger M1 tournament, having taken home the top prize of $700,000 cash in 2002, and the 2003 FLW Tour Championship, where he earned a first-place check for $500,000.

“Getting involved in the communities hosting the Wal-Mart FLW Tour has been a great way for sponsors to give back and to thank the anglers and tournament fans who have been loyal consumers of our products for many years,” said Castrol representative Tracy Curtis. “Fishing is a wonderful family activity that has no boundaries on who can participate. We are dedicated to helping anglers of all skill levels learn new tricks of the trade and promoting the sport to a new generation of anglers.”
