Veteran angler, up-and-comer on FLW Outdoors radio

DALLAS – This Sunday, “FLW Outdoors Presented by Wal-Mart” hosts Keith Lebowitz and Tony Casillas will interview two anglers with different outlooks on competitive fishing. The crew will talk with veteran angling great Larry Nixon of Bee Branch, Ark., then interview a relatively new face on the Wal-Mart FLW Tour, Castrol pro David Dudley of Manteo, N.C.

Nixon, who is currently in his first season as “FLW Outdoors” television co-host, has been fishing professionally since 1977, winning hundreds of thousands of dollars during the course of his career. He has won two FLW Tour events. His second was on Lake Wheeler in Alabama last year, which, coincidentally, is the next and final regular-season stop along the FLW Tour before the championship on the James River in Richmond, Va. Nixon will talk about his longevity as a professional angler and the upcoming tournament.

Dudley, winner of the 2002 Ranger M1 that netted him $700,000, has already won more than $1 million in seven years of FLW Outdoors tournament fishing. Dudley is currently ranked second overall on the FLW Tour, and he will talk about what it will take for him to win the coveted Land O’Lakes Angler of the Year award.
