New co-host joins FLW Outdoors radio show
DALLAS – FLW Outdoors announced Wednesday the addition of Tony Casillas as a new co-host on “FLW Outdoors Presented by Wal-Mart.” Casillas, a retired Dallas Cowboys star, will join host Keith Lebowitz in interviewing a variety of celebrities and outdoor enthusiasts to discuss all facets of outdoor activities.
Casillas’ career in football began in the ’80s when the All-American defensive lineman played for the University of Oklahoma and was named defensive player of the decade in the Big 8 (now known as the Big 12). After being the second player picked in the 1986 draft by the Atlanta Falcons, Casillas made All-Rookie as starting nose tackle and was named All-Pro in 1988. In 1991, Casillas was traded to the Cowboys and was a starter on both the 1993 and 1994 world champion teams. He ended his professional football career as a Cowboy in 1997 after a stint with the New York Jets. Last year Casillas was an in-studio college football analyst for “Southwest College Football Show” on Fox Sports Net.
“We are really excited to have Tony on board,” said Lebowitz. “His in-depth knowledge of professional sports – along with his passion for hunting, fishing, the outdoors, conservation and spending time with his family – really makes him an asset to our show.”
Along with celebrity interviews – including chats with country rocker Tracy Lawrence, Stanley Cup winner Andy Moog and NASCAR Winston Cup Series winner Ryan Newman, to name a few – “FLW Outdoors Presented by Wal-Mart” offers coverage of FLW Outdoors fishing tournaments and interviews with respected pro anglers like veterans Clark Wendlandt and Larry Nixon. The show also features an ask-the-pro segment, during which listeners can call in and have their questions answered by fishing experts.
“The sports and outdoors format is a perfect fit for me,” Casillas said. “I am really looking forward to joining the show and having the opportunity to not only talk about football, but also hunting and fishing and the outdoors with guests who are truly passionate about it.”
