‘FLW Outdoors’ to tour world’s largest fishing-research facility

MINNEAPOLIS – This week on “FLW Outdoors” television, co-hosts Carlton Wing and Taylor Carr are joined by Wal-Mart FLW Tour pros Gary Klein of Weatherford, Texas, and 2002 Land O’Lakes Angler of the Year Jay Yelas of Tyler, Texas, on a tour of Pure Fishing’s research facility in Spirit Lake, Iowa. While visiting the largest fishing-research facility in the world, the group learns how cutting-edge lures are designed and tested.

Also on the program, airing Saturday from 7 to 8 p.m. EST on the Outdoor Life Network, the group will demonstrate some of the new innovations and gadgets available to anglers as introduced at ICAST, the nation’s largest recreational-fishing trade exposition. Saturday’s “FLW Outdoors” will also present a discussion with pro angler Koby Kreiger of Osceola, Ind., who is making a run for another EverStart Series Championship crown, and offer tips from Team Fujifilm member Wes Thomas of Hanover, Ind., while he fishes the Atchafalaya Basin in Louisiana. Pro angler Ricky Shumpert of Lexington, S.C., will also reveal his tournament-preparation secrets.
