FLW pros set out to make top-10 cut while co-anglers enter final day of competition

ROGERS, Ark. – With hazy conditions and balmy temperatures predicted to dominate the early morning hours of competition, the top-20 pros and co-anglers made their way past Prairie Creek Marina shortly after 8 a.m. in search of two separate destinies. For the pros, today’s goal is to qualify for the final round of competition by hauling in enough weight to make the top-10 cut. For the co-anglers, the goal is nothing short of a first-place finish which will net one lucky co-angler $40,000 in prize money.

However, for the anglers, there are storm clouds on the horizon – literally and figuratively. Not only is the competition expected to be intense, but the National Weather Service is also calling for severe thunderstorms later this afternoon. How the rapidly changing conditions will affect the anglers and the bass bite is anyone’s guess. However, it is clear that another exciting day of competition has commenced.

Currently, Clark Wendlandt is in first place in the Pro Division while Vandy Cameron owns the top spot in the Co-angler Division. However, before the start of the day’s competition, all stringer weights were reset to zero – meaning the day-two leaders only have an advantage as far as tie-breaking procedures are concerned. In essence, the path to victory is still very much wide open.

FLW action continues at today’s weigh-in, scheduled to take place at 5 p.m. at the Wal-Mart Supercenter located at 2110 West Walnut in Rogers, Ark.
