Pro anglers put everything on the line during today’s final round of Ranger M1 competition, top prize of $1 million at stake

MOBILE, Ala. – As the thunderclouds blanketed the sky and a light rain dropped from the heavens, the final 10 anglers made their way past Chocolotta Bay marina toward the open waters of the Mobile-Tensaw Delta shortly after 6:05 a.m. Although anglers had been scheduled to depart at roughly 6:30 a.m., tournament directors allowed an earlier start in an effort to give anglers as much fishing time as possible prior to the scheduled 2 p.m. weigh-in.

Unlike the cold and blustery conditions that greeted anglers over the first three days of competition, the developing weather front brought with it relatively seasonable temperatures – hovering in the low to mid 50s. However, it’s clear that the front will also provide for an extremely wet day of fishing. In addition, the change in weather and barometric pressure could drastically alter the successful fishing patterns that have dominated the tournament to date.

While the outcome of the most lucrative bass fishing tournament in history has yet to be decided, it is clear that one of these anglers – Randy Blaukat, David Dudley, Mark Rose, Jason Kilpatrick, Dion Hibdon, Michael Black, Tom Monsoor, Dale Teaney, David Walker or Takahiro Omori – will walk away with largest payday of their respective careers.

Ranger M1 action continues at today’s weigh-in, scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. at the Mobile Convention Center – located on 1 South Water Street in Mobile, Ala.
