Top five anglers battle for $200,000 top prize in Forrest Wood Open
DETROIT – Under a backdrop of cloudy skies and relatively calm conditions, the five remaining anglers of the 2001 Forrest Wood Open took to the open waters of Lake St. Clair shortly after 6 a.m. Larry Nixon, Mickey Bruce, Steve Daniel, David Dudley and Jimmy Millsaps will be put to the test this afternoon as they bid for first place in the final tour event of the regular season.
Today’s weigh-in is scheduled to take place at 3:30 p.m. at the Wal-Mart Supercenter at the intersection of 12-mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue in Warren, Mich. A Family Fun Zone featuring fishing seminars, free product samples, interactive displays and children’s games will open in the Wal-Mart parking lot starting at 11 a.m.
