Growing up in the Piney Wood of East Texas, Chris has always loved to fish. Raised by his grandparents with a pond in the back yard, Chris went fishing every day and began fishing in youth tournaments at a very young age. In middle school he was asked by a teacher what he wanted to be when he grows up. His answer is the same today as it was in middle school - Professional Fisherman!
He began his FLW career fishing the BFL Cowboy Division, transitioning to the Rayovac FLW Series Texas Division and finally moving up to the Walmart FLW Tour.
Brasher's sophomore season in 2013 was the breakout year he was looking for. The Texas pro finished in 25th place in the prestigious Kellogg's Angler of the Year race and qualified for his first Forrest Wood Cup.
